Now that Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is over, it's time to start a new project.
If you were with us or saw a donation box in the community last year, you know about this necessities drive. If you don't.... You're about to find out. Can you imagine being outside on those cold winter nights? Many of us are fortunate enough to be able to find shelter in our own homes, the library, or at school, but others can't do that. We have noticed an increase in the homeless population in King County, and heard a calling to help them out. Last year, we started this drive to collect necessity items to donate to the Union Gospel Mission, who would distribute those items. This year, we are doing the same, except with a little more jazz. We have new locations, new boxes, and new faces visiting those boxes! You're in for a real treat. Swing by the Burien Community Center, Camp Schoenwald, Cedarhurst Elementary, Gregory Heights Elementary, Highline Church, Highline High School, and Seahurst Elementary to donate items. We will be checking on those boxes twice a week and bringing items back to Mr. Salvatori's room. Feel free to drop donations off at his room (273) as well. Please help up have a successful drive by sharing this with your friends and family, and of course, by donating! Remember: Black Friday is coming up. It would be a great day to buy items to donate. Acceptable Donations include: Beanies Beef Jerky Chapstick Chicken and Cracker Single Serve Meals Cookies Crackers Gloves and Mittens Granola Bars Hand Sanitizer Hygiene Products Individual Peanut Butter Nuts Pepperoni Sticks Pop-top fruit Pop-top pasta Protein bars Protein drinks Socks Toothbrushes Travel-sized shampoo and conditioner Travel-sized Toothpaste Tuna and Cheddar Single Serve Meals
